Off to Jhapa for Nuptials

Finally, time has come to tie the knot. After thirty one years of solitary existence, at this juncture of life, a woman is entering my life to share my fate. One to whom am going to swear lifelong devotion.

I am a staunch believer in the institution called marriage. When I broke this news to my editor, he remarked: "Ah, it's amazing for a person like you to approve your parent's selection (of bride)." "Yes, I followed the tradition," I said. He congratulated me. Then, I told myself: I'm just reversing the love sequence. People first fall in love and then tie the knot. I wish to marry and then fall in love for the lifetime.

Jan 28 is the auspicious day of wedding and her name is Kavita, the poetry of my life. Poetry apart, the joys and sorrows, I believe will be halved and shared. You need someone to care, more importantly you need to be loved and I feel fortunate to be worthy of this bond.

Though at times, I pondered over living all alone till the end that was simply a daydream. I simply cocooned into the comfort of marriage. I hope this translates into a joyous rhythm of life.

As a groom to be, I am both excited and edgy. Like all a head of his or her marriage, I am anxious about the post marriage life. Look forward to it very much. I often tell my friends: There are three important events in a person's life: birth, marriage and death. You can not celebrate the first and the last. So, celebrate marriage, celebrate love.

Talking about love, how can I be so mean without mentioning the unconditional love of two most beautiful women in my life. Thank you A and B. Sorry.. K is waiting for me.
